What is the difference between a Silhouette Cameo and a Cricut?

The Silhouette Cameo can cut materials without a mat. Cricut cutting area is limited to a 12" x 24" mat while the Cameo can cut up to 12" x 10 Feet in length. ... Silhouette has a much larger print then cut capability but I have not used it yet so I can't comment too much on that at this time.
Do I need a computer for Silhouette Cameo?
